I’m going to let you in on a giveaway strategy I use with one of my clients that is getting her up to 8,000 new subscribers monthly. And it only involves using one program to help you automate the process.

How To Grow Your Email List With Social Media Giveaways

Giveaways are a great way to grow your following, but the traditional method of requiring people to follow you and tag a couple of friends to gain an entry, like on Instagram, usually leaves you with a few new fans and then some that will unfollow once the giveaway has ended. It’s not only about those vanity metrics of followers and likes, but about growing your email list, that is going to serve you more.

Automate The Process With KingSumo

By using KingSumo to run your giveaways, a lot of the process is done for you once you take a couple of hours, in the beginning, to set it up.

After you set up a landing page for your giveaway through KingSumo, you share it and people use their email to sign up. Once they enter by email then they can gain more entries by sharing on social and through links. It will look like this when they sign up.

The first giveaway I did with a client, through KingSumo, gained her 4,000 new email subscribers! She now does this monthly with huge results every time.

You can make the landing page as basic or elaborate as you want. Some people spend a lot of time and make it more of a sales page and others just show what you will win and leave it at that. Either way, you will have people excited for you to market to them and that is the best marketing!

I Don’t Have A Following

Don’t worry if you don’t have a huge following or email list, this is still going to work for you.

The best way to ensure you get your giveaway out there is to do a collaboration with someone in a similar niche. Just don’t pick someone whose business looks exactly like yours. For example, I wouldn’t choose someone who is an ads strategist.

This is a great stepping stone to start gaining awareness for your own brand. Once you start to build up your following and email list you can start pitching to brands and do sponsored giveaways.


Doing Sponsored Giveaways

Okay. You have gotten really good at giveaways and are getting great results. Now it’s time to step up your game and start charging other brands. Sure, sponsored blog posts are great, but sponsored giveaways can be even more valuable.

Before you go pitching brands, make sure to have your results from previous giveaways and know your numbers. This will help you close the deal when they see how successful these have been for you.

If you can show them that you have 16,000 followers on Instagram, but every giveaway you do results in 8,000 more emails. That is way more powerful than just getting likes and follows. That is 8,000 warm leads right to your inbox. The standard is that you should be making around $1.00 per person on your email list. So, imagine the possibilities if you are growing your email list regularly.
